Doster Law operates as a fully remote law firm with access to “micro offices” in local markets where the firm regularly offers its legal services. These offices are in law firms and coworking centers that have roots in the local area. We are prepared to meet you, by appointment, at one of our below locations. H. Jared Doster - Founder of Doster Law

H. Jared Doster, B.C.S.

Board Certified Intellectual Property Lawyer

Doster was born and raised in Panama City, Florida. After graduating Vanderbilt University Law School, he began his law career at a major oil and gas law firm in Houston, Texas, moved to Miami, Florida to continue practicing law at an IP boutique, and then opened Doster Law after returning to his hometown for family reasons.

Most of his practice focuses on IP litigation in federal courts. He is admitted to practice in Florida and Texas, and admitted before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. He is the Vice President of the Bay County Bar Association and a board member of the Panama City Symphony Orchestra.

Christopher M. Tanner

Of Counsel

Tanner is a former patent examiner with a tremendous amount of experience in prosecuting patent and trademark applications before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office, with a self-reported issuance rate of ~97%.

After his tenure as a patent examiner, Tanner worked at patent prosecution firms in the U.S. for a number of years before relocating to Tokyo, Japan, to act as U.S. patent prosecution counsel for the ITOH International Patent Office. Afterwards, Tanner returned to the U.S. to open his own law firm.

He is admitted to practice in Florida and admitted before the USPTO.

Family History

Charles S.G. Doster

1830-1898

In 1851, Doster was admitted to the bar of the State of Alabama. He was the first attorney to practice law in Autauga County, AL, and established the firm Doster & Abney in Prattville, AL. During his career, he served several terms in the House and Senate of the State of Alabama, and served as chairman of the state senate judiciary committee. At one time, he was appointed to the bench by the governor of Alabama.

Obed C. Doster

1856-1914

Following in his family’s footsteps, Obed became an attorney by the traditional method of “reading the law” and never attended law school. In 1887, he was admitted to the bar of the State of Alabama and eventually established the firm “O.C. Doster & Associates” in Newton, AL.

He practiced primarily in the courts of the Wiregrass Region of Southeast Alabama, representing clients before the trial courts up to the Supreme Court of Alabama. During his career, he served as mayor of Newton, AL, chairman of the Democratic Party of Dale County, AL, and city attorney for the City of Ozark, AL.

O.C. Doster, Jr.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Doster became an attorney, established his law office in Enterprise, AL, and practiced litigation in all state and federal courts in Alabama. He represented clients before the trial courts up to the Supreme Court of the State of Alabama. During his career, he served as mayor of Enterprise, AL.
